Lumecca (IPL)

Say goodbye to sun spots, redness, and uneven skin tone with Lumecca, the most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment available. Lumecca is safe for most skin types; however, IPL targets pigment directly, so it is not recommended for very dark skin tones due to a higher risk of pigment burns or changes.

You can use Lumecca on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, legs—essentially any sun-exposed area that shows signs of pigmentation or redness.

Laser Treatments FAQ’s

Does MDKoru offer financing?

Yes, at MD Koru we offer Cherry Financing.

Is CoolPeel® painful?

CoolPeel is designed to be far more comfortable than traditional CO2 resurfacing. Most clients describe the sensation as mild warmth or light snapping, and we typically apply topical numbing cream beforehand to maximize comfort. Because the treatment doesn’t generate the same heat buildup as traditional CO2 lasers, there’s little to no post-treatment pain—most clients describe it as a “lunchtime laser” because it’s so tolerable and quick.

How long does a CoolPeel® treatment take?

Most CoolPeel treatments take about 15–20 minutes, making them easy to fit into a lunch break—this is actually one of their biggest selling points compared to traditional CO2 resurfacing, which typically takes longer and requires more extensive prep and numbing time.

When will I see results from CoolPeel®?

Many clients notice smoother, brighter skin within just a few days as the treated surface layer sheds. Because CoolPeel also stimulates collagen production beneath the surface, texture, fine lines, and tone typically improve over the next 4–6 weeks as new collagen forms.

What makes CoolPeel® different?

CoolPeel® uses the same CO2 laser technology as traditional resurfacing, but with an ultra-fast pulse duration that treats only the skin’s surface layer — without allowing heat to build up and penetrate deeper into the skin. Traditional CO2 lasers generate significant heat that requires days of downtime and a longer recovery to protect against complications. CoolPeel delivers similar surface-level exfoliation and collagen stimulation while keeping the skin’s deeper layers cool and undamaged, which is why it’s known as the “no-downtime” CO2 laser.

How many CoolPeel®treatments do I need?

Most clients see great results with a series of 3–4 treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart, especially for concerns like fine lines, sun damage, and uneven texture. Some clients opt for a single “refresher” treatment before a big event, while others use CoolPeel as an ongoing seasonal maintenance treatment (commonly done in fall/winter when sun exposure is lower).

What is Lumecca IPL?

Lumecca is one of the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments available, delivering up to 3x more energy than standard IPL devices. It uses broad-spectrum light to target and break down excess pigment and blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface — treating age spots, sun damage, freckles, rosacea, and visible facial veins for clearer, more even-toned skin.

How does Lumecca work?

Lumecca uses a process called photothermolysis — targeted light energy is absorbed by pigment or blood vessels, converting to heat that breaks them down without damaging surrounding skin. Pigmented spots gradually darken and rise to the surface before flaking away, while the body reabsorbs treated vessels over the following weeks.

How long does a Lummecca treatment take?

Most Lumecca sessions take 20–30 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.

Does a Lummecca hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick, light snap, like a rubber band against the skin. We apply a cooling gel throughout to keep you comfortable, and you typically don’t need numbing cream.

Is there downtime with Lumecca?

Lumecca is a “zero downtime” treatment—most clients return to normal activities immediately. You may notice mild redness for a few hours, and treated pigment will often look temporarily darker over the next 24–48 hours (a normal, expected part of the process, sometimes called “peppering”) before flaking off within about a week.

How many Lumecca treatments will I need??

Thanks to its higher energy output, Lumecca typically delivers visible results in just 1–3 sessions, compared to 4–6 sessions with standard IPL devices. Many clients notice improvement after a single treatment, with continued clarity over the following weeks.
